The Thrushstone Dower House The Thrushstone Park Dower House, is a grand neoclassical manor house. Built originally in 1815 and the stone pillars the enclose the main entrances were added in 1836. I was owned by a wealthy businessman but was never lived in until purchased in 1846 by then First Marquess of Ribble, who occupied the house while Thrushstone Park was renovated to suit the family’s needs. It is now used as the estates dower house and is renowned for its hilltop views of the river.
