Personal History | It was a beautiful sunny day when Charlotte made her appearance into the world. Born with a silver spoon in her mouth she never had a want for anything in the world. For Charlotte everything came easy, she was intelligent and kind and smart. Spending most of her childhood in Scotland or with her cousins in London. Princess Alexandra and her were very close in age and so quickly became like sisters. When Charlotte was away she would often write to her cousin long winded letters. Tutored in private until the age of 11 when she was sent to the Queen’s College in London. Her father wanted the best education for his daughter, despite the fact that the college taught math to women. She adored school, loving to learn about anything and everything she could. When she graduated she wanted so desperately to continue her education but it simply wasn’t allowed. So she returned to her father’s home in London and began her life as a patron of the arts. |
